Hey folks! Sorry I've been absent for so long. Life happens. I've been enjoying some of the new talent we've had recently though.

This figure is what I like to call an extreme experiment. Either it was going to work, or fail miserably.... I was going for the classic 90's Jim Lee style where you couldn't tell if storm was wearing black or white. Painting extreme contrasts SUCKS!!! I started (after many different trials) with a straight white base and built upon that. I laid in the Grey-blue next and finished up with the extreme blacks. Once I had a technique that I liked it went fairly well. Please let me know what you think. There are MAD skills on this site and I'm always looking to improve.

As far as the figure goes, she is a basic Storm with some tweeks. I changed out her fore-arms with an Electra so she could have different hands (Psylockes) The Head and Hair are from an old Storm Fig. Robot fighters I think, and the cape came from a Water-blasting Storm.

The Lightning is just bent wire and painted with Blacklight Paint. Her eyes and Lightning bolts both glow.

Thanks for all the wonderful feedback!!

this looks good, if you make a whole team of x-men with this kind of paint style that would be a cool set.

Nice job man. I find that effect painting sometimes looks better from a little further back. The eye tends to take it all in as one object instead of seeing the actual, individual lines. With how you painted it, it might convey slightly better that way. Awesome work though.
