The steel claws would look good on this guy (and they are so easy to do) but a dark wash of paint would help too.
Use a black or brown, maybe both, so it looks like he has just been brawling. That would make this POP.

I like the details on this figure. You might want to try the tutorials that show how to add steel claws to your wolverine custom to add realism to your figure.
