I would say simple repaint but we all hate the color yellow and know how much of a pain it can be.

Ruin a Decepticon lost in battle assumed dead but was very much alive pounding at a bit of metal that had once been an Auto-bot. He had once been the scourge of the Decepticons even Megatron dared not get in his way. Not only dangerous but half crazed. His only joy was war. But in an intense battle the Decepticons had been attacked by Alpha Supreme a monolithic transformer the size of an entire city. his attack was fearsome and annihilated all but ruin who attacked with such fury that even though he was a vehicle in a city the damage he caused and able to command was amazing. Alpha Supreme blasted him hitting is central processor but that didn't stop Ruin it just made him mad and he began to tear Alpha Supreme apart. He ripped his way into Alpha Supreme's Central processor and banged away at the core until it exploded. Alpha Supreme's last act was to launch into orbit to prevent nuclear fall out and the death of a 1/4 of the planet. But even as he exploded Ruin continued to bang and rip at Alpha and after the explosion he was still there protected by a Yellow ring which tried to rewrite his damaged circuits and he continued to pound until the fateful day a cruiser scanning the comet found him and as the computer identified him and heard his name uttered and felt the fear it caused. The memory loop was broken and he was back and the ring on his finger finally was able to finish repairs. "You inspire great fear welcome to the Sinestro Corps" His eyes glint red a demonic smile crosses his robotic features and he knows his purpose. In darkest space.
