When I was just starting my collection and saw pictures of Mysterio, I thought it looked horrible and decided I wouldn’t ever buy it.
But as my collection grew, mainly the Spider-Man part of it, I of course had to buy Mysterio. It wasn’t as bad as I might have originally thought, but the dome part just looked wrong!

It was when I discovered that the Mr Fantastic ball (from the F4 box-set) was the same size that Mysterio’s fishbowl helmet should be, that I decided to do this simple but effective mod.
I simply took off the dome and head from Mysterio and dremeled the inside until the Mr Fantastic-ball could fit perfectlly.
Then I just painted it white and added a layer of gloss.
Nothing else has to be done to this figure, since the outfit, cape and gloves are all as they should be.

I realized afterwards that the ball is the same size as some ping-pong balls. You can make a really simple mod to your Mysterio by getting a white ping-pong ball, cut of the bottom make it fit on the body, and you’ll still have the light-up feature intact. Since ping-pong balls are so thin, I think you’d be able to see the light-up effect, but I’m not sure…

This was a quick and easy mod that I’m glad I made!
