Young Link V2 (Legend of Zelda Orcarina of Time) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:31165
Name:Young Link V2
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Legend of Zelda Orcarina of Time
Creator:Lalam
Date Added:July 18, 2011
Base Figure:None
Height:4.00 inches
A complete revision of my original Young Link figure. The intent was to make it look more like link, and completely change the articulation/overall "rough" appearance.

EDIT: the "accessories" photo shows link with some basic fixes made months ago. The pink around his eyes was removed; the entire figure was washed down with a thick matte coat, and many general paint fixes were implemented.

An entire description of the joints and how they were used:
Ball pieces: Kotobukiya standard ball jointed kits
-Metabee Kit (1)
-Armored Core Kit (2)
Sockets:
-DBZ Model Kit (1)
-Gundam Model Kit (2)

Shoulders: Socket (2) glued inside center chest area; ball piece (1)(small) connected to Hobby Base Ball Shape 8mm sized joint. Edge of opposite peg trimmed to fit appropriate into upper arm, allowing for bicep swivel.

Elbow: Revoltech (NEW version) 6mm joint; peg going towards upper arm cut completely off, piece glued into upper arm; opposite peg trimmed to fit appropriately in socket.

Wrist: Small peg trimmed from Hobby Base template/tree, glued into forearm.

Neck/Head: Revoltech (NEW version) 6mm joint.

Torso/Abdomen: Socket (1) glued into center abdomen; ball piece (2) connected to Hobby Base Ball Shape 8mm sized joint; trimmed socket piece (unlisted) placed around previous joint, connected to belt/lower tunic (skirt); ball piece (1)(small) connected to socket (2), glued to trimmed revoltech eva wrist sockets (pvc base used on hips for durability in small area).

Hips: Hobby Base Ball Shape 8mm sized joint. (description of socket in previous listing)

Knee: Hot Toys basic body wrist joint; cut at both edges, glued into each side of the leg.

Ankle: Socket (1) glued into upper boot; ball piece (1)(large) connected to similar sized peg (Hobby Base template/tree); lower portion identical to upper.

Basic information:
The figure was sculpted using Super Sculpey, and painted with Modelmaster acrylics. The joints are a compilation of Revoltech joints, Hobby Base joints, Kotobukiya ball joints, and scrapped joints from figures I hadlying around. The figure itself stands almost EXACTLY 4 inches tall. The face is removable, allowing for different expressions (of which I have yet to sculpt), a long with his hat, allowing for different, more dynamic posing effects. He currently has 6 incherchangeable hands; 3 for his right, and 2 for his left.

This is probably going to confuse many people, so, if you have questions, go ahead and ask away.

It's a figure line created by Kaiyodo - I have several spare joints, but I also used Hobby Base joints. They're are around the same size, and pretty much promote the same action, but aren't on ratchets.

You can buy seperate revoltech joints from Hobby Search/HLJ/Amiami, a long with hobby base joints.

Man this is even more epic than the first, has an even greater resemblence to the game. It is so smooth also giving it a great cartoony/video game feel, where the last was a bit more realistic. Love the fig the style the whoe enchilda, you rock and love your work. Would love to see you join the forums the custom workstation section, you can display wips pics and get help and comments from other great customizers. Would love to see a stage of progression of your work almost like a tutorial. Just had to say you rock and I am a big fan can't wait to see any Legend of Zelda and your other works. Keep knocking them out of the park.

The old one's.. well.. ruined. While trying to edit it, I, in turn, ruined it. Now it's in many pieces, and completely carved apart in some areas..

Bravo, sir, bravo! Uh,do you have plans of making a Fox McCloud custom since Star Fox 64 is coming out on 3DS? That'd be awesome! Anyway, superb job on this Link! It's one of the best I've seen!

Thank you so much! I was actually considering doing Fox from either Starfox Assault, or the Brawl version. I haven't seen much new artwork/3D shots from the new 3DS starfox, so I'm unaware of his appearance.

Very nice. Did you use some sort of vinyl for the skirt thing? It blends with the sculpted parts of the tunic quite well which is rare to see.
