Hi all- long time- no customs- but I've been slowly getting back into it after a too long break

these are my most recent customs- spurred on by my love for 2000ad comics and characters

first up is the awesome Judge Dredd- I've done Dredd before but not in this scale and I really wanted a 3/34 inch figure of him.

Recipe:

Base figure- POC Zartan- I cut the lover legs off and added the Superhero Showdown Ghost Rider boots as they were more "Dredd like" and chunky as per the comics-actually I could have made them MUCH bigger but I wanted to strike a balance between the comic and the more "realistic" Dredd approach in the fan film "Judge Minty". The Gloves were taken from another GI Joe movie figure- but I can't remember which one-probably a neo viper or something.....

Head- Marvel Universe Cable- I did originally use the Zartan head as he did have the sneer that Dredd has- but when I saw cable I know I had found my Dredd head! I cut off the hair to fit the helmet- and instant Dredd!

Helmet- Star Wars General Veers- I trimmed the helmet length and moulded the crest on to of the helmet, and the front visor was made out of a scrap piece of plasticard.

Shoulder Pad, Knee pads, Eagle and Belt- these were taken from the ReAction Judge Anderson figure- they were slightly smaller than the ReAction Dredd ones and with a bit of trimming down they don't look too large. The elbow pads were made out of Milliput moulding clay

The Handcuff and truncheon holder were from some scrap belt I had in my spares and they fit in nicely with Dredd's belt

The truncheon or "daystick" as it's called was made with some bits from my spares box and Dredd's trusty Lawgiver Mk11 was made with the base weapon from Star Wars Expanded Universe Kyle Katarn figure (Power of the Force)with Milliput, plasticard and other bits added to make a reasonable facsimile of the gun.

The badge is plasticard with some real chain I had in my spares.

A mixture of comic and movie/film colour scheme to finish the figure and voila- one Judge Joe Dredd

"I am the Law!!!"

feedback, etc always welcome

cheers all
