This is a slightly different look than the Build-A-Figure Nemesis / Holocaust. I choose the Trigon base for its size and clean sculpt. It was pretty easy to build up from with Apoxie. I went for the Darkseid Arms for their girth. Joining the two were somewhat of a challenge that almost resulting in me jamming a screw driver through my hand. With a little convincing, the two went together rather nicely. The skeleton is the most controversial portion of the figure. It ended up a little more Mignola-esque than I was planning. Not horrible for a scratch made head. At least for my skills. The customer requested the floating burning stuff in the helmet, so that helps to cover up some of the sculpting. The upper body armor was a treat. Trying to build the raisers and have the clear dome fit over it correctly took some seriously trial and error. Once in place though, I think it blended together rather nicely. Lots of layered sculpting all around. There is no removing that puppy now. I detest painting yellow. White and yellow are the hardest colors, I swear. There are probably 6 rounds of dry brushing and washes on the puppy. The customer also had me paint some of the parts more metallic to more accurately capture the figures style. Check out my Flickr page for those pics. In general, the figure was a lot of work but pretty fun to boot. Interested in hearing your thoughts. Thanks guys! -Ron ![]() |
