ML Bishop Base, Venom head - Sculpted from Scratch, Eddie Brock Head- Sin City Series 2 Marv
Height:
6.50 inches
This is the only I always loved. I took a ML Bishop and demeled the crud out of him, removing all buttons, clothes and such. Removed the head and resculpted a venom head. Added Fixit sculpt to the body to smooth and sculpt missing muscles that were lost in modifying and added the pointy fingertips. Then I removed the Marv head and demeled a hole in the bottom big enough to place on and off of the venom body. Also added Fixit sculpt to the Marv head to simulate the tranformation process. The webbing is made from three strands of 20 gauge craft wire. First two strands were tightly wrapped around each other while the third is less tight. ( Thanks Jin!) I think this looks more like the Mcfarlane venom than any I have seen produced. But that's just me.
Well, basically he was first primed ( grey sandable auto primer is the best). Then I brushed two coats of Citadel Chaos Black. Then I airbrush some Games Color Sky blue for highlights. I then added a dry brush of Chaos black to tone down the blue and then finished with another drybrush of the sky blue for the brightest highlights. I love combining both brush and airbrush. When a figure is completely airbrushed, it looks mass produced. I prefer my figures to have a fine arts look. The white was three coats of Citadel Skull White and painted VERY carefully. LOL.
This custom is un-freakin believable; I love McFarlane's Venom, and can't stand later interpretations with a huge slobbering tongue. Just wondering how you did the paint apps with this one?
I have to agree with everyone. This custom is awesome. Love the use of the Marv head, it works very well as Eddie Brock the way he's been depicted by some artists. The Venom head is also awesome sculpt. Paint on eyes and chest, also superb. Very impressive work, only thing missing is Eddie's MULLET!!
yeah the pointy feet was on my mind but sometimes it varies in the art from flat to pointy. Plus I think the bulky feet fit the Mcfarlane style when he does buff characters. I may change them, what do you all think? Just painted yellow lanes on the base to simulate a roadway.
WOW really nice and a excellent show of skill my friend. I kinda wish the feet were more ......pointy. They look like boots still. ahemquickdremelahem. BUT WOW, your skill is just up there. the marv head is just perfect.
