Shazam was so popular in britain that they did their own version - MARVELMAN
Instead of shouting Shazam to turn into his hero form he shouted KIMOTA! which is a mispelled backwards ATOMIC...
However again because of Marvel comics embargo on the use of Marvel as a superhero name - He was renamed MIRACLEMAN and written by Alan Moore of WATCHMEN fame in 80s

wow! See I was clueless on all that stuff. Thanks for letting me know. I was thinking the Marvel captain Marvel and that is what threw me off. course my confusion is more than understandable...

Interesting tidbit about Captain Marvel (Shazam)... he was originally put out by Fawcett Comics in 1939, but in the 50s DC sued Fawcett Comics due to the character's strong similarity to Superman, and Fawcett stopped publishing the character. By the 70s, DC acquired the rights to publish the character as their own, but because Marvel Comics had copyrighted the name "Captain Marvel" in the meantime, they couldn't promote the book as "Captain Marvel"... hence why the comic was called "Shazam!". Ahh, lawsuits... isn't this a great country? o.O

FYI Monk buddy - Captain Marvel IS the guys name - his comics called SHAZAM! after the magical transformation word he utters - to transform from a teenage kid into "The Worlds Mightiest Mortal"
The magical word is actually the name of the merlin-like Wizard who gave him his powers
Each Power represents a Letter in the Magic word
S - Solomon's Wisdom
H - Hercules' Strength
A - Atlas' Endurance
Z - Zeus' Power (Wrath) aka Lightning
A - Achilles' invulnerabilty
M - Mercury's speed
Tho hes very cheesey (His nickname's "The Big Red Cheese&quot and kinda a superman clone to some extent - hes a very cool chracter in his own right and you should check out a Superman.Shazam! team up called "First Thunder" which I couldnt help but enjoy - despite not being a fan of Blueboy or Shazam
As for the custom - this is a good rendition of the animated version of Cappy Marvel in he JLU Tv show
