Darjon Tak Is from Planet Neptucon A water based planet in sector 6532.9. a respected member of his society, Dorjan is well liked by all his planets inhabitants, it is for this reason the ring sought him out. He is forthright, Just, and caring. Dorjan decided that the ring was not for him and dismissed the ring. Months passed and while on vacation on the outer reef, a beautiful and serene part of his homeworld fill with the most exotic of creatures ever witnessed. However on this day he met the most exotic and terrible creature of them all... King Shark. King Shark was on a quest to search out members of the Green Lantern Corp and happened upon this planet, he found it to be much like his own ocean. King Shark came upon the Tak family and attacked without warning seriously injuring Dorjans wife and Killing his young son. In a blind rage Dorjan pursued King Shark only to be blindsided by the exhaust of Sharks ship , left at the bottom of his world to die. Dorjan awoke to thought of his wife and child. When he arrived at the scene he found his wife unconcious and his sons lifeless body being picked at by small crab like creatures. Falling to his knees Dorjan let out a yell that sent ripples througout his world. Dorjan looked down for a brief moment and gazed upon the emerald ring he had seen so many months before, he picked it up and placed it on his finger. He looked up towards the surface and uttered these words : " With the power of the emerald light I vow to do that which is right, to defend and protect each man , woman and child day and night"
