I wanted my Guardian to be somewhat imposing when facing off against the bad guys, so I used a DC Direct Eradicator figure. I liked the fact that he already had the lines down his body to help define Guardians red and white costume. Sanding off the big "S" was a chore though, and then I had to resculpt his abs slightly and fill in the gaps on his back where the cape was pealed off. His head was from a Hush Batman. I liked the grim demeanour on this face that Guardian was often depicted with. The paint didn't seal well as I look at it now. I can see some rub marks where the black is showing through. Oh well, it looks great on my shelf :)
Thanks for all your praise on all my customs ff! The line down the left leg was a tough choice. I've seen it both ways, but I think Byrne stopped it at the waist. The base figure I used already had a line down the leg, so I just followed it. Because of that, my line is a lot wider than it is in the comics. But that's just more artistic license, right
I was wondering if the maple leaf came all the way down the left leg...I couldn't remember since I have seen it done both ways. I know John Byrne created him, maybe he would know...anyways...I really like the way you done him and the base figure you used makes him look really clean and tight in the suit. it looks just like him
Thanks for the kind comments everyone. Dedi - I didn't realize you were a displaced Canuck! No wonder I have an affinity for your work! Wolverine is my wife's favourite character, but the only thing I can think of that hasn't been done is a nude Wolvie ( shudders at the thought )
You aint the only Canadian here - Albertan thru and thru, bud But living in Scotland now - aka "Pocket Canada" Very nice work on Guardian - but as a canadian - you gotta do a wolverine at some point ~_@ Dedi
wow that's really well done! Good work with keeping the white so clean and ummmm not gloppy what's the opposite of gloppy again? smoothe...yes that's it great job keeping it smoothe!
Thanks rpetras! As a Canadian myself, I had to make sure the maple leaf was as accurate as I could make it. It took a lot of hours and some very looooong breaths to finally get it this way. I'm glad you like it
Thanks GJ, that's quite a compliment coming from someone as talented as you. I absolutley LOVE your Winter Soldier! It's given me a few ideas that I might "borrow". I hope you don't mind?
