i wanted this figure since i was a kid, but it was really hard to find here in my country, so you wouldn't believe how happy i was when i found it on the Internet, it was cheap, new, and the 12" size!.... but then, when it was in my hands i realized that the paint job wasn't so great. so i decided to try a new one.

the original skin color was very dark, and i didn't like it cause i always saw the pictures of the figure (obviously the pictures in McFarlane site)and the skin color on them was pale, also there where some differences on the detail of the painting job, so i aimed to get those original details on my figure.

first of all, even before deciding i would paint the figure, i changed the hooks from is face using pins instead. the hooks that came with the figure where too big and didn't fit in the holes also they didn't looked so real.
And then i started the work, first i masked the mongroid and then the tubes, i cut two of them, a red one and one of the small black tubes, the other black tube came out by accident, this made the painting easier and i could also detach the figure from his base.
when painting i used acrylic paints, first i started painting the whole figure black, then i painted the skin color with an airbrush (just some white and a tiny bit of brown) then added a mix of burnt sienna with brown to highlight the details on the skin, and added some steel color to the tools that are hanging on the side of the base, then i painted all of the leather with an enamel black, and dry brushed it with some lead color, i painted the mouth, teeth and tongue then i put the tubes back in the figure, but the way they looked in the McFarlane site: two red tubes (not the 3 the figure came with) two black tubes and one hanging black tube (which came attached to the figure) i made the wound that this tube left in the body with epoxy putty, and the black tubes where made from old cables.

and then came my favorite part... the blood! i used two different colors for this an "Indian red" which is kind of a light red i use for fresh blood and a dark red (i can't remember the name now) at this time i added some details of my own on the figure, like the blood on the hands, the original figure doesn't have this but i thought it was necessary because the story behind the figure says that talisac is a doctor and he makes the operations in his own body (like the womb for example)so it seemed logic to have his hands full of blood, i mean, he couldn't get them cleaned because his hanging there. also added the splattering blood on the chest.

i tried to be more detailed and realistic while adding the blood and i think i managed to do it. at the end i added a piece of steel below the base of the figure, making it heavier i did this because the figure falls easily to his sides, and this solved that problem.

And that's all I'm very happy with the result, i hope you liked the figure and any comments are welcome.
BTW i don't speak English! so if i wrote something wrong i would appreciate a correction, thanks for looking!

EDIT: changed the third picture for the same but with more resolution, and also, i forgot to say that after the blood i added a LOT of varnish (I'm not sure if that word is right)
