Before there were radioactive spiders there was the lonely and reclusive Jim Davis. Growing up in a foster home had its advantages, lots of alone time and no one to bother you. When he became an adult, Jim, set out to change the world to show it that he could do good and be good. He took on the avatar of a spider, a loner, deadly. He fashioned his uniform out of every day clothes and a mask to hide his face. He wears the symbol of a spider to drive fear into the hearts of those who disobey the law.

Thanks for all the inquiries and comments on this figure! It was hard not to respond and give myself away. However this is a original creation. I tried to meld the Golden Age Green Lantern with Spider-man theme. The Jim Davis Spider-Man story is also of my own imagination. I really wished I could have done more this is a great contest, and it got me away from the normal wrestling customs I get to do. Thanks again.

I have this nagging feeling in the back of my head that I should know this character and that he should be called the SPYDER not spiderman. But I can't figure it out so I must be losing my ever loving mind. Anyway great job I don't know if this is golden age a per-exsisting character or a custom creation but it looks good so great job.

It's perfectly all right that whomever did this created a new identity for Spider-man. Option #2 in the rules allows for the reinterpretation of a more modern comic book character into a Golden Age version, and that includes rewriting/creating a new history for that character. Just as Spider-man 2099 isn't Peter Parker, it's all right for a Golden Age Spider-man to have a different identity.

I have never heard of a Spiderman before Peter Parker.

Is this an orignal character? I can't find any references to Jim Davis. It's an interesting design, though the description makes him sound more like Batman with a Spider theme.
