Faker (Masters of the Universe) Custom Action Figure
Having been inspired by to do a couple more characters from Marvel/Star Comics' 13 issue "Masters of the Universe" series from the 1980's, I set about doing a custom of Faker as he appeared in issue #7. So, to accomplish this figure, I started with the DC Universe Classics vs. Masters of the Universe Classics Superman vs. He-Man 2-pack He-Man and COMPLETELY disassembled him. Next, I took an extra DC Universe Classics vs. Masters of the Universe Classics Lex Luthor vs. Skeletor 2-pack Skeletor and disassemled him. Once both figures were completely pulled apart, I repainted Skeletor's boots/feet, wristbands, loin cloth, and chest harness in a dark blue with silver for the bones and studs. Next, I put Skeletor's loin cloth and boots/feet onto the He-Man body and reassembled the He-Man. Once the glue on the abdomen piece and the upper chest had dried, I put the Skeletor chest harness onto the figure, reattached the head, and, TA-DA...Faker!!!! Please let me know what you guys think of him, and as always, comments are appreciated. Please wait... |

Those STAR comics were mostly just advertorials for new toys. This issue featuring not only Faker, but also Ninjor, Clamp Chap and Blast Attack. Somehow I always felt that the Faker that was introduced here was the best version of him. No-one would believe that a blue skinned man and He-Man would actually be the same (although on Eternia everything is possible and people also don't recognize Prince Adam als He-Man
You're right, those old comics were just adverts for the toys, just as the cartoon was as well. BUT, I did like that series as the designs on the characters were so cool, especially the characters who never appeared in figure form, or, like Faker, had a ridiculous figure design.
Thanks again for the comment, and, again, I'm glad you liked him...It is good to have another fan of my work.
