A long time ago in a Galaxy far away... In a world where the Rebellion failed, and the Empire succeeded. The few remaining heroes of the Rebellion have gone underground; the Jedi order is all but gone, but the Rebels did not give up... There were always battles, and not all of them were in space. Land battles were far more frequent, just less known to the greater galaxy. Rand Artin was a hero from the Battle at Endor, given reign to develop his own band of Commandos, commonly known as “Rand’s Band.” (Left to Right in the final picture: Rzadi, Juplo, Kal Trition, Greel saBinring, Ysmine Juno, Rand Artin, Canon Fodder, and Mina Fenrir). Bear with me, the following bits are long, because of the fact it’s a team of completely original characters (the recipes are in the bios). Rand Artin: A scout on Endor, Rand witnessed several Commando teams die as they landed on Endor, his unit as well as two others were destroyed as they landed planet-side. Rand refused to quit, he gathered what survivors he could, as well as recruiting several of the native Ewok. The small band successfully destroyed several AT-AT Walkers, as well as being the ones to breech the Death Star shield generators allowing some success against the 2nd Death Star. Made from a BSG figure, with some paint apps and a head/boot swap from one of the WWE figures. Ysmine Juno: Ysmine and Rand had been working together since Endor, not allowing Rand to form his own Commando unit without her being part of it. The two share a close bond, which many times people take to be romantic. Straight repaint of a Stargate figure with a RE Sheva head, pack from a Halo figure and a holster from a separate Stargate figure. Mina Fenrir: A former Imperial officer who was simultaneously captured and recruited by the Rebellion, an excellent gunner, she was given an ultimatum of joining the Rebellion or being returned to the Empire after being caught and tricked by a couple of humans and an Ewok. Such failures were often not tolerated by the Empire, so she remained with Rand’s Commandos. Quite complicated actually…made of lower body from a ML Punisher, arms from RE Sheva, head from Stargate figure, upper torso/wrapped jacket from a BSG figure, gun from a Halo figure and some paint apps. Kal Trition: A medic from Alderaan, trained at the Imperial Medical Academy, Kal was more than willing to join the Rebellion after the Empire completely decimated his home planet, including his family. Stargate figure repaint with a Bulletstorm head, instant medic. Greel saBinring: One of the “primitive” races that were exposed to the tests by the Binring BioMedical Labs, under Imperial directives to create more intelligent muscle and seeking ways to increase mental capacity and utilization. Greel managed to break free from Binring along with several others, finding sanctuary with the Rebel forces. The body belonged to a ML Maestro, with sculpted shirt, simple enough, the head though…once upon a time it was a classic TMNT Bebop figure’s head, heavily sculpted to have that pretty Gamorrean mug (seriously it’s the first drastic sculpting work I’ve ever done…I’m rather proud of it). Canon Fodder (CT-28-8942): A former Clone Trooper, his size was drastically larger than many Clones due to the problems created as the Jango Fett DNA had been stretched to its limits after his death. An added side effect of the problematic DNA was that they were allowed a little more free will, and when Order 66 was passed, Fodder and his “brother,” Blitz, decided to protect their Jedi General, Hokss. Blitz did not survive; Fodder did while protecting Hokss, the two fled into hiding for a time. Fodder eventual joined up with the Rebellion as a scout…a large scout…but a scout. WWE Elite figure with a Stargate vest, and a Batista (I think) head, who when compared to the mug of Temuera Morrison (Jango Fett), is actually quite similar. Juplo: A Ewok from Endor who snuck aboard one of the Rebel transports, Rand recognized him as one of the group that had helped him take down one of the AT-AT’s. Juplo insisted he wanted to fight the Empire, and when no one else was willing to accept such a primitive sentient into their group Rand was more than willing to give the little guy a chance. Started life as a Panthro figure (from the new Thundercats line), with a lot of Apoxie sculpt, some paint, BSG vest and a sculpted over Panda Khan head. Rzadi: One of the few Falleen who was willing to express emotion, as such she was looked down upon by her kin, giving in to more “human” emotions. Distraught over the destruction of her home city when the Empire killed 200,000 of their people she was quick to join with the Rebellion. Was made from Stargate body with very few paint apps, and a repainted head from the Stargate Wraith Queen. Also to clarify in regards to Canon Fodder, is intentionally misspelled to reference canon material vs. cannon the weapon, due to the fact I’m tearing apart accepted Star Wars canon… ![]() |
