Opha is from a peaceful world know as Truval, home of the Truvali. They are a highly intelligent species who have very large heads which accommodate large brains. The quickest way to gain power in Truvali society is to know everything. Opha took this seriously and when he came of age he had exploratory synaptic surgery performed on his frontal lobe. A small synaptic processor was connected to his frontal lobe allowing him to access and store vast amounts of data. Members of his family were shocked at what Opha had done and quickly the news spread to the community. Mediators were quickly dispatched to resolve the situation. This was something never seen before on Truval so the Mediators took this to the most knowledgeable Truvali, the Elders. The Elders feared what this new way of learning might bring. Opha was told what he had done was not the Truvali way and the device must be removed. Opha refused, claiming the processor was the ultimate way of gaining knowledge. Being a peaceful race the Elders voted to banish Opha from Truval. He was given a small ship and made to leave his planet and his family behind. It came as a surprise that Opha would be chosen to join the Sinestro Corps. He has found emmence knowledge on the power of fear.

Opha was one of thousands on Qward during the capture of Green Lantern Kyle Rayner, and Rayner’s separation from the Ion entity. Opha's activities after the Sinestro Corps War have yet to be documented. It is believed he is traveling the stars in search of technology capable of upgrading his synaptic processor to store memories from those he kills.

Truvali Rule of Knowledge #1: With great knowledge comes great power.

Truvali Culture Fact: Synaptic surgery is now banned on Truval. Anyone even caught speaking of it is subject to punishment.

Base Figure: DC Universe Classics Maash/Low
Head: DC Universe Nite-Lik head with DC Universe Maash jaw and chin. Nite-Lik's bone dreads were cut off as well as some of the potruding facial features. Sculpting was done to smooth out certain areas. A piece from a dollar store triceratops was used to go down the back of his head and simulate the continuation of the scales already on the top of his head. Sculpting was done on the back of his head but for the most part remained flat. Then of course a full repaint.
Hands: DC Universe Classics Low hands repainted
Synaptic Processor: It is actually a grenade from a Halo Figure. Amazing what you can turn an instrument of death into when you put your mind to it. Used my dremel to dril a hole into his forehead. Then it was a simple glue and stick.

Thank you. While I do love the head I think I could have done a better job had I taken more time. But I guess I am my own worst critic.

Even though I´m not a fan of multi-colored lanterns and even less alien species lanterns, with a few classics exceptions, I must say that this one figure is really well executed. Great imagination, too!

Not a fan of multi-colored lanterns? Blackest Night was the coolest thing Green Lantern has done in ages. Anyway, I'll forgive you. Thanks for the comment. Nice to know I impressed someone who isn't into the other colored lanterns.
