Well, this figure was ugly as heck. I don´t own the variant, so I can´t say, but this regular version had grey opaque plastic in the body parts that were supossed to be metallic. So I gave him a first layer of vallejo metallic gun silver, then a wash in black, then dry brushed the same base color, and lastly drybrushed highlights in a lighter silver. Then I repainted the pinstripes in his uniform silver. Well, I´m no fastfreddie, but I think the figure looks, if not better, at least kind of metallic. Lemme know what you think. I did a similar thing with mine, The original figure's colours were a bit disappointing but the sculpt of this figure it fantastic! Really glad Hasbro actually made it!!
Hey now! You don't have to be me to get this looking beautiful! I love what you did with this. There is also a paint called ALCLAD II LACQUER (chrome) FOR LEXAN, that works wonders over a black basecoat. If you go back and look at that Absorbing Man I made, the one with the brick wall arm, I used that stuff on his left arm and side.
