Just a repaint everyone. Recently got this hasbro red & black mcfarlane spider-man for a reasonable price & thought to myself, why not repaint him to match its original colors instead of buying the original overpriced version. I consider myself a horrible painter & thought it will be good practice for me. Thinking about painting another layer of blue on him just for fun. The eyes & the spider symbol were a nightmare for me due to my shaky hands lol. As for the webbing, there's no way I'll ever be able to paint them right so I just painted over it. IMO it doesn't look that bad since they are sculpted. Feedbacks are always welcome.
Just want to say I'm new and your my first comment. Anyway It's not that bad, Pretty good actually. I have shaky hands too and The blue looks better than the black so great work. P.S. I don't make customs just like to look at them LOL!
looks classic, and the paints seem clean. But if you´d take some humble advice, with a wash in black over the red, and then a dry brush in red, the webbing would be more noticeable. And that same formula applies to the blue parts of the uniform, to highlight the muscles. You are not a bad painter at all.We all need practice, and we can learn from each other. I like the figure just the way it is. Cheers, bro!
Thanks for the compliment & the excellent advice dude. I'll definitely try it out when I have some free time. Too busy with work & everything else lol.
This is pretty sound advice! I think you have done a pretty good job, and he's nice and clean and the spider is a good indicator of this! I think everybody has shaky hands, but it's all about how much right? One thing though, I don't know if you do this, but it's a biological fact that if you try to steady or force your hands to be still or not shake it only worsens it. The key is to relax and not try to force it. Watching a custom pinstripe painter demo exemplifies this, those guys are sheer precision, and they work quite loosely. Keep up the good work!
The figures contained in the Custom Showcase are not for sale by Figure Realm, and the creators of the customs are no way affiliated with Figure Realm. Well, really, what pulpy said works, too. If you force yourself, they´ll only shake more....
Keep up the great work, guys!
