Hello.I've been away from the customizing scene for a long while, but now I'm back with a custom of my favorite magical superhero,Shazam!!,...or Captain Marvel if you prefer.I've been practicing sculpting, molding, and casting heads for 6 inch figures during my break, and this figure features one of them.I wanted to maintain the sort of boyish look of the character but I still wanted him to look like someone who could fight superman to a standstill. So I aged the captain a bit.Other than the salt and pepper hair,I tried to give him a more serious expression, especially around the eyes.I'm not too sure if I accomplished that effect but, what the hey! I'm still learning!
The cape is a modified ML moon knight cloak with a small chain added. The lightning bolt emblem is adhesive backed vinyl. The sash around his waist is from a spawn cloak collar. The entire figure was hand painted using Tamiya and Model Masters paints.I really enjoyed putting this guy together.I hope you guys dig him as much as I do.Please comment or critique away! I could really use the feedback! Thanks so much for checking him out! -customapprentice

great job, really like the time you took to learn the casting/modding. your shazam/captain marvel is truly spectacular. have one question though about the adhesive backed vinyl, where can you get some of that and does it come in different colors or how well does it take paint? it would be truly useful in some projects I am thinking of. keep up the great work, loving it.

Thank you so much for the kind words! Very much appreciated! As for the vinyl,I got mine from an engineer friend of mine, but I can certainly find out where he got it and let you know,..it definitely comes in other colors, and it takes acrylic paints beautifully! Love your stuff by the way! Thanks again!

I am practicing my sculpting, too, and I know how hard it can be. But I think we are both off to a decent start. Nice paints!
