Hi fellow artists. It's great to be back! For my first custom of 2012, I present Sinestro Corps Skeletor. After being inspired by the masterful hunterknightcustoms' version of Sinestro Corps Skeletor and having an extra TRU 2-pack Skeletor lying around, I knew it was only a matter of time before I gave him a try. Add to that the fact that I've been itching to make some MOTUC customs after drooling over the amazing AREZ's MOTUC customs. Thanks guys for the inspiration! :) The recipe is rather simple. I used the body of Snout Spout because of his shorts, unto which I glued the TRU 2-pack DCUC Lex Luthor "skirt". I then added on the forearms, hands, lower legs and head from the TRU Skeletor. Gave the entire figure a repaint. I added 3 rhinestones...one for the ring and two on his loin cloth (front and back). I also used water-slide decals of the Sinestro Corps logo on his chest, left arm band and both boots. Using Aves Apoxie, I sculpted the left arm band and the belt. This is the first time I've used Aves Apoxie to enhance the look of my custom. Kind of wish the belt had come out better, but hey, I'm happy with my first attempt. The yellow construct sword comes with the TRU 2-pack Skeletor. :) Completed January 2012. Thank you so much for looking folks. Keep those amazing works of art coming! :)  |

I'm so glad you noticed the detail of the 'glowing' face!
That's exactly what I was trying to go for. I wanted to give him a ghostly, glowing, 'almost yellow-construct' kind-of-look.

Your MOTUC customs, especially the DC characters made using MOTUC bucks are some of the best works of art on the realm.
I find myself checking 'em out from time to time for inspiration.
I use water-slide decals that I printed myself on a water-slide decal page. The process is rather simple and fun, but there is a bit of a small learning curve to get them to look just right...especially when placing them on a bumpy surface. If you're interested in hearing more about them, please PM me. I'd be honored to share my technique with you or anyone else on this site that's interested.
