This character is from an old French children's story book (La Femme Arignee). In the story, a woman-spider, who wore a beret and a large overcoat to conceal her lower spider body, tempted children with cotton candy, spun from webs, and later took them to her lair. This custom version shows her in all her monstrosity, and is more tribal in design. The base figures were salvaged from a rummage sale. They were sculpted together with apoxie and painted in acrylic. Her "human" hand is from a Poison Ivy fig. and the claw is from a dinosaur toy. Clear ruby marbles were attached to the rump and lower abdomen to look like eggs? venom sacks? The stinger was from a Carnage figure accessory. A metal chain is draped over the poseable legs to appear as webbing. Care for some cotton candy?
