Earlier this year I finally got a hold of a NECA Raziel (or two) when it got re-released, and I really love the figure. A few things about it bug me though: his soul reaver is waaaay too long and droopy, his feet don't match the character model, his paint job is good, but really dark and has alot of weird purple highlights, and the remains of his wings are awkward. So last night I decided to finally do something about it. Resculpted his toes to better match the art, made new fabric wings that hang much more naturally, cut up and reworked the soul reaver, and gave him a full repaint. I like it much better now, much more game accurate.
Now see? THIS is why I prefer the old Blue Box Toys Raziel over the NECA version: the colors are just infinitely superior. Just like your repaint here. Top-notch job!
@Batman: while I agree that the paint was much better, or at least less stylized on the blue box one, the neca figure is just such a better toy. I had almost a decades worth of innovation on its side though
Ooo, I'm gonna have to disagree with ya there man! The BB Raz was WELL ahead of its time, design-wise, and you can get him into just about every pose he ever takes in the game. And he does it without ball joints breaking up the sculpt. And he does it with flexible, rubbery wings instead of rigid plastic ones. Yeah, he's not quite as poseable, but sometimes less is more.
But hey, to each their own, eh? Yours is still a stellar piece!
