Hi Realmers, The body is from a DCUC Sinestro Corps Batman. The head is from a B.A.F. Queen Brood figure. I gave it a complete repaint. The hands are from a McFarlane Toys Wetworks Vampire figure. I also repainted them to match the color scheme of the head. The ring was sculpted with Aves Apoxie. The antennae are whiskers from my wife's cat, Mina, that we find on the floor every once in a while. :) If you look closely, you'll notice that I added a Sinestro Corps water-slide decal logo to the ring and then covered it with a yellow rhinestone. This looks really cool in person as one can see the Sinestro Corps logo through the rhinestone, as if the logo is inside the rhinestone. The head was actually completed back in November 2011. However, I was never happy with the regular DCUC Batman hands so I added the creepy Wetworks Vampire hands on Feb 2012, right in time for the Vile Volitions II Contest. Enjoy folks and thank you for looking. :) 3/3/2013 Update - I just had to add a pic of Sinestro Corps Blattor with the newest addition to my GL Corps, Green Lantern Grazzka, compliments of Xysma the Warhorse. Thank you so much brother for this totally AWESOME figure! ^_^ ![]() |

Really amazing job on this- the painting and attention to detail, like the ring, just blow me away. You should keep the idea going and get some cheap Toybiz Brood figs to make Red Lantern Broodlings...that would rock.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Red Lantern Broodlings, heh? hmmmmmmmmm......
I totally get where you're coming from, as I too love the figures from the 70's, 80's and 90's.
I've always admired/respected the work/hours that the sculptor, or team of sculptors, must put into each figure before it's mass-produced. A lot of these figures, especially the ones from the past decade and a half, have so much exquisite detail. It's a shame when the factory paint job does not take full advantage of these details. That's why I always try to bring the details out via paint whenever possible. This particular custom was super-fun because of all the details that the head and hands have.
Just keep at it, brother! As long as you're loving every second that you're working on a custom, the results will show.
I really appreciate your feedback, quantum7.
Next GL custom I create I'll make sure to include a group shot...that's a cool idea.
This was one competitive, yet fun contest!
First one I've entered. I'm really looking forward to entering future ones.
Thank you so much.
It's great to hear from you, dude.
Funny you said cockroach. I came up with the name Blattor from the fact that roaches are insects of the order Blattaria.
Good to hear from you fastfreddie.
I was definitely going for an insect-like look to him.
I appreciate your feedback.
The competition was tough but it sure was fun.
