After making Hamburglar and MAyor McCheese I just had to make Grimace. There's not much to Grimace so I went with a simple repaint of The End Hulk. Base coat of black primer, dry brush of Nightshade Purple, then two dry brush coats of Imperial Purple, then another of Imperial purple mixed with white for the muscles I highlighted them white then painted over with a translucent red, then used the same tactic for the hair, white highlights with an opaque purple over it.
I *L-O-V-E* the dystopian McDonaldland figs! Now I forget whether you said there was a series with this as the inspiration or whether you envisioned one yourself Amazing work!
This all started with a Carlton Mellick III book called Warrior Wolf Women of the Wasteland. The Hamburglar, the Mayor, and the walled city of McDonaldland came from that book. Once I got the idea stuck in my craw I had to go on and make Grimace and Birdie. They are so much fun. I'll probably keep making them.
You must not be an old timer like some of us, way back in the 70's and early 80's McDonald's had McDonaldland in their TV commercials, it was a ripoff of HR Pufnstuf full of characters like the Hamburglar, Mayor McCheese, Grimace, The Fry Guys, and Ronald McDonald, the only surviving character if I am not mistaken. They were awesome!, this was before we knew the food was making us fat and killing us, they marketed their product straight to kids.
