Colossus (X-Men) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:38434
Name:Colossus
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:X-Men
Creator:fastfreddie
Date Added:April 17, 2012
Base Figure:Marvel Select Colossus
Height:8.50 inches
Soon as I saw this newest Colossus I immediately thought Outback style shirtless Colossus(as several people did). I removed the top, sculpted the abs and the lower back, cut off the top of the boots and resculpted those. Filled in the peg holes and sculpted a belt. I primered it, threw on a new crispy metallic paint job (FF style...it's always evolving and adapting as I learn new tricks everyday) and I clearcoated him in a ultra hard shelled gloss that's dry as a bone to touch but looks super wet. All I can say is G2G!

RedRebelCustoms: This technique is really easy. Just lay down a basecoat or a good primer of gloss black (DUPLI-COLOR GLOSS BLACK for fabric and vinyl is awesome, get it at Advance Auto parts, Meijers or other autoparts or stores that sell paint) and the chrome is ALCLAD II Laquer chrome for Lexan(I never tried the regular stuff, but the Lexan stuff is supposed to be more flexible). Spazstix also makes a mirror chrome airbrush paint, but I haven't tried it either. You can also brush the ALCLAD on but it works better with an AIRBRUSH. You don't have to seal it, but I do to make it glossier and look wet.

Thanks for the follow up FF! I think the extra tips will help. I have a metallic colored custom in the works. Hopefully I'll funish it and it won't end up another dust cillector. LOL!

I always like seeing a Colossus custom. And I always enjoy seeing a fast freddie custom. So, just like a Reese's, two great tastes that go great together! Another winner, brother!
