Scrier was a very enigmatic character when he first appeared in Spider-Man, which I of course loved.
This figure came together pretty quickly (compared to my other customs at least!) and I hadn't originally intended it to be in this contest, but since it was finished in time. I've had long debates with myself concerning the character and if he qualifies into the contest or not, under the "Supernatural" theme.
The thing is, when he was first introduced, and in subsequent appearances, the character seemed to be very powerful and it was hinted that he was even more so than Judas Traveller, who said about himself that he was close to as powerful as a god.
The writers and editors however, had no ultimate plan for him, or for Traveller for that matter. They had no back-story worked out and they didn't know anymore than the readers did, whom Scrier was.
Someone might have had a plan, but during the confusing time behind-the-scenes of the Clone Saga, so much was switched around and changed up.
I know the editors and writers didn't like the fact that Scrier and Traveller were not the type of villains that should appear in Spider-Man. They were too "supernatural" would probably be a good word to describe it.
Traveller faded away, not having appeared after the "Trial of Spider-Man" story, but Scrier continued to be used as a mysterious character.
At some point it was decided that it would be revealed that Scrier was not one being, but a whole order were everyone were dressed up as Scrier.

That settles it, right? Scrier wasn't supernatural after all. Wrong. The real true Scrier later appeared in Silver Surfer, as a tremendously powerful being. It is revealed that he is truly the original Scrier that the Order of Scrier is based on.
So then he is supernatural, right? Well, yes, pretty much, though the problem is that when he appeared in Silver Surfer, he didn't look like Scrier from Spider-Man. He later appeared in a Spider-Man Annual and met the Scriers, and at that time he appeared like they did, but since he can look however he wants to (he later reverts back to the form he had in Silver Surer), who knows what he really looks like.
I don't know all the facts (I'm currently investigating this thing), but my take on it is that the real Scrier, who is a supernatural entity, was the Scrier that appeared with Traveller in the beginning, and that's what this figure represents.
So lets get to the custom already!

I didn't want to waste good body parts that wouldn't be seen underneath his robe, so I just took a torso from a wrestler and the head from Akuma, which I thought looked like the character, and that was it.
I then took random parts like the things from ML8 Doc Ock's base and a symbiote shooter from Venom, and glued these parts together and then glued on the "figure". I put marbles in the arm sockets to give him complete shoulders and then the complete base figure was ready.

I didn't know how to make the robe, but then started experimenting with paper, painting it black and that's what I ended up using. It looked the best at first; before glue and more paint was added to make it all stay this way.

The figure has no articulation what so ever, it's essentially a statue, but that's not a problem to me. I think the robe could have come out a bit better, as it looked better at first, but I still think the figure has a very interesting appearance and I'm happy with it.
I hope you guys appriciate the originality I think this figure incorporates.

Thanks for all your comments!
I very much agree that he should have had arms, but while I was working on it I was so focused on the image I had in my mind that I didn't look a reference pictures enough, where he did have his arms visible on several occasions and I think this figure would have been better if I had given him arms, but once I realized that, I was already so far along that I would have had to scrapped the whole robe wich was too much job!
I'm glad you guys like it and that it got such a good score, because I really like it too
