This is sort of an older repaint, but I really liked the screen accurate paintjob I gave him and don't think I'd do anything different today. Surprised it held up so well! But the likeness definitely suffered on the original release due to just awful paint apps. Overall the work just went into the head, but I did repaint the shirt and shoes and added in detail washes wherever they were necessary.
Guess the best advice is just to practice drybrushing and washing to bring out detail. Can't stress enough buying good quality paints since they usually cover and spread better. Tiny brushes help a lot, but honestly I'm not sure how much my technique differs from anybody else's.
I'm trying SOOOOO hard to perfect my Joker. I'm re-doing him & I'm struggling. I've tried to do a perfect face 10000000 times (I'm exaggerating) & its just too hard. Raybot, How do you perfect your customs? Yours look clean & factory made. I'm Soooooooo jealous. Anyways GREAT JOB
WOW! and I thought my Joker was good. Yours blew mine out of the park. Great job it looks much better than the original. I'll probably fix the shirt on mine also. I think his shirt looks too green & too solid. You really improved this figure. You've inspired me to make mine look better. Please check out my Joker & GREAT JOB
Definitely one of the figures that my old paint methods really worked out on. I do wish the sculpt had been better though, it's not quite as nice as the Jail Call Joker that came out a year later. Paints made a solid difference and I was surprised about it way back when I painted this up.
This figure was always sorely in need of a good repaint and you've certainly done an excellent one, another great Joker to add to list of those done by several realmers. So much more character added.
that head looks awesome, personally I thought the retail versions were kinda dull and plain, you added a lotta life to this and made it a cool movie figure, very well done as usual!
