So, being a big fan of Cawley Entertainment Company's "Star Trek: Phase II - The New Voyages", I decided I should add a couple of characters from the web series that was designed to continue the story of the Starship Enterprise under the command of Captain James T. Kirk. In one specific episode, "Enemy: Starfleet" Chekov, now holding the rank of lieutenant, is promoted further to the position of Chief of Security, and thus now wears a red shirt. This figure was a very simple head and hand swap from the Mirror Chekov onto the Trials and Tribble-Ations Chief O'Brien body using the boil and pop method (the O'Brien was the perfect choice since it was already in a ST: TOS red shirt). Since the O'Brien figure's forearms were molded from the previously released Scotty figure, I used my Dremel to remove part of the pre-molded lieutenant commander's rank stripes to have only one stripe designating him as a lieutenant. As soon as the Dremel work was completed, I used a bit of sand paper to smooth out the sanded areas and buff them, and then used a small amount of red paint to cover up the fact that the forearms were sanded. Once the forearms dried, I commenced a two coat repaint of the lieutenant stripes in gold, and once the paint dried completely, ta-da...Security Chief Lieutenant Pavel Andreievich Chekov!
