Hi fellow Realmers! Happy 4th of July! :) This here's a b-day gift I worked on for my buddy, Paul. Ever since I had made a custom figure of his brother last year, I knew it was only a matter of time before I would create a 'McFarlane' version of him...I just had to wait for the right base figure to come along. The base figure had long hair on the back which I removed. However, after removing the hair, a big cavity remained on the back of the neck. I filled it in with Aves Apoxie. I then had to come up with the right mixture of paint to match the skin tone of the face. Once I had it, I painted the neck and arms. I gave the whole figure a repaint and modified the numbers of the front and back to 58's. To achieve extra, control precision, I used a blue permanent marker to outline the 58's. I played with the letters on the back of the base figure to come up with the last name of 'Amato' and make it look as 'factory-made' as possible. I used water-slide decals for the 58's on the shoulders, the Titan swords on the shoulders, the Titan logos on the helmet and a couple of small 'Titans' logos (one on the chest and one on the back of the helmet). I also used a bit of artistic freedom and added a couple of more decals to his wrist bands...I just thought the Titan logos looked cool on his wrist bands to further promote team spirit. I wonder if NFL teams have logos on their wrist bands, if not, they should...looks AWESOME! :) Once complete, I sprayed the figure and head with a matte sealant. I then covered the skin parts of the head with aluminum foil and sprayed the helmet with a gloss sealant to achieve that shiny look that football helmets have. When I initially planned on working on this custom, I thought it was going to be a simple repaint. However, it ended up being quite a challenging, yet fun project which required lots of patience and careful paint applications. I definitely learned a lot from this project. Every second put into it, though, was worth the effort for a really awesome friend. I'm really proud of how it turned out. :) Thanks for looking. I hope you all enjoy. Completed June 2012. :) ![]() |

Actually the tiny Titan logos are water-slide decals that I printed out on a water-slide decal sheet. The hard part was researching all the correct logos online and then printing them out in multiple sizes to ensure that I'd end up with the right-sized ones. Once I applied them on, I did have to meticulously paint around them so that they blend in with the rest of the shoulders.
Thank you so much for your comment.
