I had no intention of making a custom Ghost Rider 2099 figure, but when the "Alternate Realities" contest came along, I decided to make the figure specifically for that contest. So I worked hard, but I didn't get the head in time for me to finish the figure then. Now there's a Robot contest, and I realized I should finish this figure and enter it! Since I hadn't planned to make the figure when I started making it, I used various stuff I could find in my fodder-box. A really butchered He-Man torso, a pair of Bishop’s arms, the legs from TNA Elix Skipper and a pair of Hulk hands. I took scotch tape and cut thin slices to use as belts on his torso and lower legs. I then took the arms and dremled them down. I even cut up his right shoulder, took out and sanded that part too. Then I used FIXIT Sculpt to sculpt some sort of circuitry all over the arms. I also sculpted some wires and stuff around his neck. That's how far I came the first time. Now I continued and added much detail. I sculpted those things on the belts, those straps on the boots, and the zipper on the pants and the stuff on his hands. Glove on the right one and something on the left one. I also sculpted wires on his arms, and of course, the entire jacket, complete with pockets and a belt. The head comes from Black Arachnis, it's Caretaker from the Ghost Rider movie. I modified it to look more like my reference pictures, making the jaw a bit narrower and opening the mouth more, plus sculpting the eyebrows and whatever it is on both sides of the head. I used a tube from Deathlok's gun that I attached to the back of the head and his back. Used fishing wire and sewing thread to make more wires. The skulls on the shoulder and back are pictures taker straight from the comic. I restored them in Photoshop, printed them and glued them in place. The dog tags are from SOTA's Guile and the scarf-thing he's got around the arm is simply made of paper. As for the paint, I painted the whole figure black, then dry brushed silver on the metallic parts and blue of the other areas. I even painted the chain and dog tags black before giving them a dry brush, so that they'd have the same dark greasy look as the rest of the silver. It was hard to put the pictures together, because I wanted all the little details to show, because I really worked hard on giving it all the details from the comic book. Sure, it's not perfect, but I'm really proud to have finished it after so much time and effort. I love how the colors came out, it doesn't translate as well in the pictures because of lighting and stuff, but I can just stare at the figure in fascination. You can see on the WIP picture how the colors looked after my first paint I did for the original contest. I'm happy it wasn't finished in time for that one, because then the result would have been nowhere close to this. I think this is my favorite of all the customs I've done, because I'm so fixated with making the figure as close to the reference material as possible, and this is a great example of that. Something this custom doesn't have is interchangeable hands. And with all the precious sculpted wires and stuff, it's a fragile figure, but I'm not going to use it for play, so that's okay. It doesn't have any figure on it head either! Why? Because it looks really silly. I've tried with some flames, like the thing that comes with Iron Fist, but it ruins the aesthetics of the figure. It doesn't look good. Plus, in the comic book, his flames weren't regular flames, it looked like some sort of force field-thing and I don't know how to recreate that, I don't think I need to either, but I'm still open to suggestions. I hope all the hard work was worth is and that the figure gets a good score :) Thanks! ![]() |

And hes called ghostrider not ghostwalker - so he needs a bike

but VP beat you out with his superb punny van
no shame in getting silver - you deserved it - congrats

Yeah Greg, I'm very proud of that, but I would have been even cooler if I had won two consecutive contests!
Deadeye: that was a good idea that I could have made the flames in photoshop. Had I thought of it before I would have at least tried it. I still might, I could be cool.
If I may ask for some constructive criticism: those that gave the figure a 4 or lower, what would you say I could have done better to earn a 5 star rating? I'd like to know because I want to be the best that I can! Thanks!!!
congrats !!!!!!

Awesome sculpting on the Jacket and buckles man - really hope you win again - I'm rooting for you
I like the Clunkiness and burned look of this piece
