Well. seeing the SDCC Marvel Universe diorama with a giant Doombot led me to finish this guy. I'd had something pretty similar going on when this was going to be an Ultimo, but decided to move along with a giant Doombot instead. Gave it a little more flair in the paintjob and I think I got something that looked pretty cool, but ultimately ended up being way too big for my photobox.
Just started on this base figure! Thanks for showing me how amazing it could look, so I can be even more disappointed when he doesn't look half this good! LOL! Seriosly spectacular paint apps!!!
The paint job on this is amazing, do you have any tips for using the airbrush, because I just got mine and I'm having a hard time getting good with it.
I'd suggest playing around with thinning your paints out. Depending on what brands you use and what type of airbrush you have, you can get a lot of different results. For me it's often best to thin out the paint and do 2-3 passes instead of trying to get a one-and-done job. For me the thing is almost never actually shading in black. Black's hard to control since it covers well, but mixing in some with the base color will give you better control over the overspray.
I have to disagree with Purple Koolaid Customs, I have asked Ray a couple of questions about airbrushes and it took a week or so, but he did reply. With that being said... EXCELLENT WORK ON THIS ONE.
Thanks allot Ray, hopefully some day I'll be a great airbrush artist like yourself or fastfredie. and as for your comment purple cool aide some people accidentally overlook comments or just don't get on figure realm for a while because there busy, so maybe you should exert a minimal amount of consideration and hold your tongue, it also might be a good idea to apologize to ray for being a jack a$$.
