70s Blacksploitation is a guilty pleasure of mine. So when someone does a good parody or homage I make a point to see it. Black Dynamite is the best of both, so I've been following this character around from the original live action film, to the one-shot comic, to the new Adult Swim animated series. This figure is based on BD's animated look - if you haven't seen it do yourself a favor and tune in to Cartoon Network on Sunday at 11:30pm. As time permits and parts present themselves, I'd like to make customs of Bull Horn, Cream Corn, Honey Bee and Fiendish Dr. Wu.
Recipe: Sota SF3 Remy with a Blackest Night J. Stewart head and neck graft. Obviously every thing but the figures legs were sculpted/modified in some way. The bottom of his jacket is flexible rubber cut from the bottom of a LOTR hobbit jacket. The 44 Magnum is fodder with a modified barrel (longer and thicker). The nunchauks are fodder and craft chain.
I'm very late to the game but I LOVE THIS CUSTOM!!!!!!!!! It is a perfect representation of the character. The only thing I don't like about it is that it isn't mine!
If they make a toy line to that cartoon and I truly hope that happens, this is exactly what BD needs to look like. This is one of the coolest action figures around!
Hey Realmer's. It is always cool to have your customs recognized by the character's creators and I wanted to pass along this note I received from the Black Dynamite creative and marketing team:
"Hey Hammer of the Gods,
I'm here with Ars Nova Entertainment, the producers behind BLACK DYNAMITE.
On behalf of director Scott Sanders, Michael Jai White and the rest of the creative team, we would like to thank you for your Black Dynamite action figure. It is simply awesome, and we want to commend you for your work.
As a token of our gratitude, we would like to send you a limited edition Black Dynamite shirt in your size!
Please let me know the best address.
Regards,
Andrew at Black Dynamite Marketing"
Good to see our Geek Art acknowledged, can ya dig it? In the words of Black Dynamite, this is "one little bitty step for me, one giant leap for the rest of you turkeys!"
awesome! it looks really good! I was thinking about doing a black dynamite myself but if I make one in the future it will probably be based on the movie (even though I think the new series is great)
This is dead on perfect! Great great custom! Funny that you just came out with this because I just asked to make him. I didn't even think of this base.
Thanks for the props. I posted over at the official Black Dynamite Facebook page and the figure got almost 800 likes and 47 comments in a few hours. Check it out at "Black-Dynamite" on FB.
Looks like their is some serious interest in some licensed BD figures for mass market consumption. We can dream but in the meantime, I'll keep cranking out custom versions of the BD crew.
The figures contained in the Custom Showcase are not for sale by Figure Realm, and the creators of the customs are no way affiliated with Figure Realm. The Custom Showcase is purely for entertainment purposes and only provides a means for the creators to show off their work and trade ideas. Figure Realm does not make or sell customs.

This is friggin' amazing. I would so buy BD figures, if they ever made them. But, they would have to be as good as this.
