I have a very personal connection with Masters of the Universe. My dad brought me a He-man w/ Battle Cat set from a business trip long before the toy line made it to my country (or to the world-wide popularity that it ultimately had) an I must say: That He-man was my childhood's Buzz Lightyear and Woody all rolled into one. I remember seeing all the characters on the back of the box and back then -in 1982- they did not have the "Evil" or "Heroic" prefix before the character short description. I.e.; "Teela, Warrior Goddess" and that was it.
It intrigued me so much that I started drawing my own MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE comic. I drew almost 65 frames on each side of the Typewriter paper I stole from my father's desk. For years I made up stories based on what I knew, what my traveling little friends told me and whatever I could imagine. I still have those same smudgy pages with me today.
I remember including in the story a character named Krane, based on one of the first custom figures my brother and I ever made: a modded Mego Hulk (looked a little "PLANET HULKish now that I think of it) that we created to fight my He-man because we had no other MOTU figures.
So you see, that He-man was special to me in so many ways that I can not help but get choked-up by seeing this...wonderful, epic, awe-inspiring figure.
The new MOTU were good, but this one has the brave face of a childhood friend looking back at me.
Excellent work.
Looks really good! I like.
