I always thought Top Knot was one of the best Predator designs. He was the second in command of the clan of predators that was first featured in the Alien Vs Predator Dark Horse Comics. He was called so, obviously, because he wears a handful of dreadlocks up in a knot at the back of his head. He could never best Broken Tusk in hand to hand combat at the arena fights, and was forced to always follow Broken Tusk's lead.

After Broken Tusk was killed by the Queen at the end of the story, Top Knot became the clan leader. Although he doesn't miss Broken Tusk, he respects him, and follows most of the rules of hunting xenomorphs, with one exception. Usually when the clans go to hunt the aliens, they are there to only hunt aliens. However, when Top Knot's crew goes hunting, they kill humans too, which is Top Knot's twist on the rules of the hunt.

The version I made is how he appeared in Alien Vs Predator WAR issue number 0. Armored up, Top Knot and his crew go in to capture a Queen Alien so they can use her for seeding other planets with eggs to produce deadly variations of aliens, for more sport.

I made him using a NECA Classic Predators head, arms, and lower half (crotch down). A NECA P2 torso was used to give him the height, and Elder predator hands. His trophy necklace is a P1, the bag strap is from a NECA Stalker Predator, with a custom made gem using a real tourmaline gemstone, the two pouches on either hip are from the city hunter, the armor is completely custom made by me using craft foam. I also custom built a 'tank top' vest on him to attach the armor to, by cutting blue painters tape in really thin strips and then just wrapping the torso to build the vest. I then solidified the vest made out of tape by soaking it with super glue. His belt is from a McFarlane AVP Celtic predator, cut and modified to fit, and painted. The twin shoulder cannons are from NECA's Wolf Predator, and Top Knot was the first Predator to ever sport twin cannons, so I'm sure that's where the strauss brothers got the idea when they used it on Wolf. The Plasma Burner was also made using a McFarlane AVP Celtic shoulder cannon, but with handles from Wolf, and craft foam. The strap was made using necklace repair parts and a leather cord. The sword was made out of layered paper soaked in super glue by a friend of mine and fellow customizer, completely accurate to the comic. He uses the sword to cut the egg sac from the Queen when they capture her. The knot was made by taking some of his dreads and wrapping some thin wire around them to hold them up at the back of his head. A complete repaint by me, and he's ready to kick some serious alien butt.
