Another obscure custom piece that was almost scraped, but decided to take on this challenge as practice for making barbarian figures. Being a huge fan of Frazetta's artwork, tried to find pictures or reference in his books for this Tredje character but no luck. Eventually somehow stumbled onto this AWESOME site called figureRealm that showcased the only custom Tredje figure known in this galaxy! Taking inspiration from creator yoyi_x, that version of Tredje not only had wicked pics of this guy but also a fabulous backstory that fueled enough imagination to want to make this one.
Completely resculpted the face & hair on the Kurt Angle fig, replacing the hands with ones that could hold this sword. The sword has some sculpt work done on the hilt and can fit in either hand. Had some rabbit fur left over from a previous job, dyed it grey to look more like wolf's fur, glued & trimmed it. His boots were taken from a Slaine fig with more sculpt work done on it. Additional sculpting on the chestplate, wristbands, shoulder guard, and belt buckle.
This version of Tredje was made with the backstory in mind, and tried to imagine a totally battle-hardened warrior bent on revenge. The Kurt Angle face was just too loveable, so it's been scratched to look meaner, braver, and certainly more life-like. A scar, similar to the one Leonidas got in 300, has been etched over the eye. Hand painted in acrylic, the hair was finally decided on this color, drawing inspiration from the Beowulf warriors.
