Hi All,

When I made my 3-3/4" version of The Phantom at the beginning of the year I wanted to make a 12" version of him as well. So once I got all the items together I then had to decide whuch version I wanted to make. I liked the Billy Zane version with the darker purple suit but also liked the comic version with the blue and black striped trunks.

So I decided to mix the both together incorporating the draker movie style suit with the comic trunks. I also wanted to make a dio for him and thought about a jungle setting but thought that the Skull Chair would be a very iconic look. Once I got the look I wanted for both the Phantom and chair they were both painted and weathered using Vallejo, GW paints and chalk pastels.

RECIPE

The Phantom - The body and hands are from Hottoys Indiana Jones, the head was one that I had lying in the parts box for ages. The boots and pistols are from Dragon, I got picked up to bodysuits from ebay and used the second one to make the neck section and cowl.

The cowl was stretched over the head then I cut out the design and then glued in into place, the mask is made from some left over pleather. The trunks I got from d-artstudios, The belt and side sections leading sown to the holsters were made using leather and the holsters are from two Hasbro Indy figures, they were both cut down from the top to house the psitols better.

The buckle and rings were made from plasticard and the skulls were cut from a GW War Hammer figure and cut and then sanded down and glued into place.

The Base - was made using high density foam, the chair was cut out and then glued to the base and then I carved small sections away to simulate stone. The skulls are resin pieces I picked up from the local gift shop, I glued them inplace and once dry I used a mix of plaster of paris and woodglue to cover both the chair and skulls, the sand is a mix of palster of paris woodglue and fine washed river sand.

Very nice figure. I love the Phantom. The throne is wonderful. I wondered how you sealed the high density foam.

Very nice. It's such a strange looking outfit, it's hard to render non-goofy, but you nailed it. And the chair was an inspiration.

I love it! He looks absolutely perfect, especially the head. And, that throne is great, too. I have always loved "The Ghost Who Walks", ever since I was a kid. This is exactly how I picture him in my head.
