Para Olo was a Hadrokon, one of the many races indigenous to Thanagar, and a pacifist. Like the majority of Hadrokons he did not participate in the Rann-Thanagar War. Typical Hadrokons hold a great opposition to war and violence, even to the point of allowing self-harm rather than a resort to violent resistance. However, even pacifists can get caught in the middle of a war.

One night Olo awoke to the sounds of strangers outside his house. He found a group of Rannian soldiers hiding in his stables. Olo told them he wanted nothing to do with them and their war. Olo began explaining that pacifism was his guiding principle when a party of Thanagarian soldiers attacked.

At this exact moment he was saved by a Green Lantern Power Ring, the revered weapon of the Green Lantern Corps. The Corps was in the process of recruiting 7,200 new members in an effort to rebuild their ranks following their destruction at the hands of the villain Parallax. He was brought to the planet Oa for training.

Initially Para Olo was unwilling to use his ring for anything but defense. But after a few months of training with Kilowog, Olo realized that offense has its advantages.

Para Olo is still unsure why he was chosen as a Green Lantern, but he accepted the responsibility anyway. And while he is known for typically using his ring for defense he is very capable of creating constructs for attacks.

Now that the Green Lantern ranks have been restored, Olo spends most of his time on Oa. However, he occassionally patrols Space Sector 2682 with Isamot Kol and Vath Sarn.


Base Figure: DCUC Medphyll (I used this figure because of the alien feet)
Head: Dollar store dinosaur head with a modified DCUC Sinestro Corps Low head inside of it to allow it to sit on the base figure. Then sculpey around it all to give the look of a neck covered in uniform.
Painting: Well obviously I painted the neck area to match his uniform. I also painted the head a bit. The top crest was painted with a dull yellow and then I chose to paint some of the crevasses on the head red.
Thoughts: I would have liked to give him hands and feet that matched the head but I could not figure out a way to make them work with the base figure. Overall I am happy with the outcome.
