While Mattel gave us a good Commissioner Gordon action figure in the Dark Knight Movie Masters line, it's just far too short and lacks the comic book aesthetics to blend in with DC Universe Classics. A DCUC Gordon is long overdo, which is what prompted this. I made him using the body from a DC Universe Signature Collection John Constantine figure, the head and tie from a DC Direct Hush Gordon figure, and the glasses from a Movie Masters Gordon. Constantine's tie was loose and ragged looking, hence the change to a more professional look. I painted the pants to resemble tan khakis, and painted his face to cover up that red nose Gordon was sporting before. I gave him some new glasses, since the ones he came with are worthless, gave him his pistol, and now he's ready to help Batman clean up the streets of Gotham City!
Funny, a simple additional head would have given us 2 figures for the price of one in the DC Sub. I would have preferred Gordon of Constantine! Well done! Maybe we will see Gordon in the retail line...
Well, not really. There's still the pants to consider. Constantine wears jeans, but Gordon always wears professional khakis or something similar. And there's the tie. Mattel has all the right parts, they just need to make a new head.
