This one was inspired by both the Captain America movie Hydra agents and the Cobra officers/Crimson guard seen in GI Joe (ironic, as I recently read that the conceptual basis for the 2nd Gen. of GI Joe was actually based on Larry Hama's idea for a new SHIELD/HYDRA book). A very simple repaint using Model Masters Acryl and DecoArt paints. Lots of dry brushing of Gunship Gray and Silver. Painted the pistols as well. Only the most ruthless, cunning and skilled agents of Hydra are considered potential candidates for the grueling two-year hell that is Death's Head Training School. Inspired by Commander Kraken's program that produced central committee capable leaders such as Madame Hydra, the graduation (aka survival) rate is estimated at a mere 15% of applicants. Cadets must undergo intense physical and psychological conditioning, torture, brainwashing and other nightmarish circumstances to earn the right to brandish the Hydra insignia on his or her forehead. It is speculated that each cadet is branded on the forehead with said rank insignia as part of an occult graduation ritual. One "positive" aspect of this officer training program is that a large number of moderately talented Hydra agents are eliminated by attrition, thus sparing S.H.I.E.L.D. the impact of imposing sanction actions against them. Any S.H.I.E.L.D. agent unlucky enough to encounter a Hydra Officer shall proceed with extreme caution or concede to risk of life and limb.
