FIN FANG FOOM!!

Yet another entry for the infamous 'Giusti Collection' :)

This baby clocks in around 16-17" when fully extended, sports a completely 'from scratch' head sculpt, and fully sculpted body.
Recipe is as follows:

Base: Spawn Movie Malebolgia body
Head: Sculpt
Scales: Sculpt
Wings: Hasbro Annihilus BAF
Tail: Hasbro FFF BAF
Fins: Dc Direct JUSTICE Martian Manhunter clear variant cape
Purple Trunks: Sculpt

**EDIT** Also, the Neck is the piece I'm proudest of. Neck/shoulder joint, and joint at base of the head, provided by the Mattel Parallax BAF, and the middle part, sculpted from scratch. Has roughly 180 degrees of rotation on each joint, giving the neck a TON of articulation!

I started this thing back at the end of October, and have been whittling away at it piece by piece between other figures. Almost 4 months, 2.5 lbs of Apoxie sculpt, a whole lot of Citadel paint later, and the long haul is worth it!

**Added in ball joints on the wings to improve posability!**

Enjoy, and please check out my other creations on my Facebook Page:

WOW!! Now that is a work of art!! Your sculpting is crazy good! I picked up a few these and the movie Violator myself for some random monsters in my displays. Never would have thought to use Malebolgia for a FFF. Great Job!! Did the knees on yours break? A couple of mine had really weak knees

The knees have been fine on both my Malebolgia bases, BUT on my Cthulhu figure, one of the elbows popped off. I was able to fix it with a plastic screw (the kind that comes with eyes for plush animals) at the Jo Anne fabric's right next door, and re-paint the head and it was good as new!

If you're interested, check out my Cthulhu figure under my profile here for another Malebolgia base figure. I was thinking of using that base again, but not sure for what....

Sick, very sick work here. Bet you got frustrated at some point with that much sculpting.

Actually, no! The sculpting wasn't as 'difficult' as it was time consuming, lol...but I have all my DC Universe animated blu rays playing on my mac while I sculpt, so it's perfect for mood setting

Nice Triple F man! I would have driven myself crazy trying to sculpt all those scales in a uniform fashion. Beautiful enduring project my friend!

It's actually not as hard as it looks. I made each section as a 'tube' of sorts, tapered at both ends. I placed it where I wanted it to go, and then simply used a flat ended sculpting tool and imprinted the lines, making separate 'cells'. I then used a brush and alcohol to smooth out the lines, and voila. Done.

Dude I have been watching the wips of this on the Worlds Greatest Customizers FB page and the title of that group is surely fitting when you see this custom. This is hands down one of my all time favorite and will almost def get my vote of customer of the year for 2013 =p. Wish you could have shown some more pics of the neck, was most excited for that. Please post a crap ton of pics on FB or message me (Wesley Shapp) on FB and send me some pictures of this masterpiece.
