So today I'm posting some Batman figures that have been chillin' wating for their turn in the spotlight.

First off, this is my first 6 inch Vampire Batman from the Red Rain story arc. I've wanted to do one this scale since I made my 3.75 inch one a couple years back.

He was built off an Abin Sur body, with lots of sculpt on the face and head of a Movie Masters Dark Knight Batman head. Basically had to sculpt an open, fanged mouth onto the head, and extend the ears way up, which took several days of slowly making them larger, as well as flaring out his brow into a heavier, creepier style. I think next time I try to make large ears, I will use a piece of wire or something anchored into the head for a frame.

The face came out okay I think, and I've been getting lots of practice sculpting faces lately. His gloves, boots, chest emblem and collar are all sculpted. Into the collar I built anchors for the bendy wires that I run through the poseable capes, so as to anchor it mor solidly into the figure, as opposed to gluing it to the neck or shoulders. Simply sculpt the cowl and then while still wet, slowly stick really wet bendy wire in a few milimeters, then slowly remove. once it drys, the wired can be glued into thelitle tunnel. Just remember to keep the wire really wet, so that it slides in and out easily and doesnt' mess up the restof the sculpt. This anchor keeps capes in tighter, completely secure, and blends fantastically. It's my new go-to technique for attaching wired capes.

For his wings--which are removeable, I used brown cloth, cut, shaped, and wired. I painted them over several days with different browns to give them a dead, dry, weathered look in person. The pics don't do them justice. The wire is anchored in the manner I described above, except the sculpted anchors are on his back under his cape. They can be posed open, back, closed, etc. The down side is the back anchors are heavy, and sometimes pull the upper torso back, so it can at times look like he's puffing his chest out. It still looks good and I'm satisifed with it, for now. I think I'll sculpt the anchors on the back a little smaller next time (and there WILL be a next time, with this guy).

His glove blades are cut peices of AKUMA's coat, and painted. The hold the sharp shape, but are bendy. Of course I went with a HUGE cape, so it can wrap very 'Dracula' like around him, or flap wide for flying poses.

Belt is fodder. Splashed some blood on him, since he's a vampire for cryin'out loud, and not in the Twilight sense. LOL!

I love the way he looks, though I'm already looking to do this better. Please let me know what you think.
