The second in my series of playset/dioramas, this is the Colonial One from Battlestar Galactica. Originally designated Colonial Heavy 798, this luxury liner acts as both President Laura Roslin's home, the presidential office, and (after Cloud 9's destruction) the Quorum of 12's meeting house. I made the walls using pieces of foamboard that I painted and glued to match the ships structure. I made the desk out of craft wood then stained in. Then added various accessories from the BSG line, as well as printouts of papers and calendars. I also bought a phone and clock from a dollhouse craftstore, and printed out a picture of the famous "unknown soldier of Aerilon" for the wall. For a finishing touch, I printed out a 7 inch picture of the Laura Roslin prototype figure and placed her behind the desk (wish they made the real fig!) The playset is in scale with the BSG line by Diamondselect.
WIN! FRAKKIN' WIN! I've thought about doing something similar to display a couple of my loose BSG figures, but doing a section of Galactica's hallway (maybe even a bit of the Memorial Hall).
Thanks. Yea, the memorial hall is on my list.... Still trying to get the Hangar Bay how I want it..... it really makes a difference to have some sort of backdrop when displaying loose figures.
awesome! I got excited when I saw the thumbnail because I thought you had a Roslin figure. The desk looks great, too. Somebody in a recent contest made a Roslin figure---you should contact him and collaborate! Keep up the BSG work!
