Hardcore movie buffs will no doubt remember this cinematic gem, by director David Cronenberg. Although not one of his favorite films he did, how can anyone forget that scene with the exploding head! YIKES!
The story deals with a new breed of telepathic humans, called Scanners, genetically enhanced at birth by a medical corporation developing military defense projects. Many Scanners unable to cope with the "voices" in their head are administered a drug called Ephemerol to help them control it and use their powers more effectively. A renegade Scanner named Darryl Revok (Michael Ironside at his nefarious best!)decides to obtain this drug by force and use it on pregnant women to build his own army of super Scanners and rule supremacy over "normal" beings. The premise is not unlike the Xmen movies where Magneto is recruiting mutants to fight for their right to party!
Sculpting for this Custom was done upside down, using gravity to do most of the work. New hands were sculpted on to get a closer accuracy to the picture. The poster from the movie was printed out and placed inside one of those Movie Maniacs billboard to complete the look. Thanks for checking this out!
