Dane Whitman's ancestor was Sir Percy of Scandia, the first Black Knight. Dane's uncle Nathan Garrett pursued a life of crime as the second Black Knight. After his uncle's death, Dane vowed to bring back honour to the title. As the third Black Knight, he has combated evil-doers alongside many heroes, most notably as a member of the Avengers.
I literally had to dust this one off! I recently came across it. It was one of the first ML customs I made, almost a decade ago. Not much to change, just a repaint, and I added a second belt and scabbard. The base is the box set Magneto. The sword is from Taskmaster.
