My second Astonishing X-Men repaint. As I said with my Wolverine- I just wasn't happy with the paint of the ToyBiz ones... The newer Marvel Legends by Hasbro look much more "comic"like, and I wanted Kitty to match her team.
So this was a complete repaint. First I sanded down the ribbing on the legs and some of the boot details. I repainted the dull grey/black uniform with a glossy blue-based black to look more true to comic. Then I repainted the almost transparent yellow with a more vibrant yellow (same as I did for Wolverine), and also added the yellow piping on her collar and boots that were missing from the original figure. For the head I painted the hair a richer brown, then dry-brushed with a lighter brown for highlights; the face was redone to be less shiny, with better eyebrows and eyelashes so she didn't look sooooo dead? My inspiration for the colors were my Astonishing Beast and Cyclops figure- I wanted her uniform to be as shiny and vibrant as theirs to really capture the essence of their comic look. Hope it was achieved... thanks for looking, and enjoy!
no I saw some pics of emma online I hope she isnt tooled so they add an x to the belt and maybe a removebale cape and I really hope they do a phoenix war song emma as dark phoenix variant
That would be awesome my friend- especially since they're doing a Phoenix Force Cyclops in the series. I hope they give her those accessories as well, but I am saving my Emma cape to put on her if not. I def think this is going to be my favorite year for ML... Have you seen the white Phoenix and Jim Lee Jean Grey? Can't wait!
ya I h8 jean but I liked her in the 90s and as white phoenix so double score I hope they do a green phoenix and I don't care if we get a phoenix five skank emma I want a end song lol and I really want a new kitty!!!!!!!!!
Oh wow; you're right! I didn't see it til now. Although it makes me dislike the head sculpt more- she's supposed to be a young Jewish girl, not a 30-something Latina, haha
