During a battle against Horde forces over Etheria, Zodac sensed a disturbance in the fabric of reality. He immediately appeared to She-Ra, warning her that a powerful force was watching. As the armies of Horde Prime pushed through the planetary defenses, the Great Rebellion and the Masters of the Universe were scattered. She-Ra was hit with a bolt of energy and was thrown from Swift Wind. An enormous fiery bird arose, engulfing the Princess of Power! When she emerged from the flames, she introduced herself as Phoenix, and began to destroy the Horde ships. As Phoenix, She-Ra possesses terrifying powers of destruction, and is seemingly unstoppable. She can travel at light speeds, attack her enemies psychically, and can manipulate fire. No one is safe from Phoenix!

Dark Phoenix She-Ra was created with a basic She-Ra body; She-Ra Filmation head; TOD Sorceress arms; sculpted "fire" attachment; Frosta legs and feet; Bubble Power She-Ra shield; and original Power Sword.
