I know that DC is coming out with a N52 Catwoman later in the year but since she's part of a boxed set I probably will not be able to afford her so I decided to try my hand at making one. Adapting the basic recipe others here have posted I used the ML Mystique. I sculpted the gloves and boots. The straps on the boots are rubber bands. The buckles are painted on. Her choker is also a piece of rubber band with a small piece of plastic glued on and painted silver for a pendant. I used the head from the Hush Catwoman. Her whip is the same one you usually get with her figure, just coiled up and tied with a black twisty. The necklace she has just stolen is from an old Black Adam figure. 4/30/13:Can't say I was really happy with my N52 Catwoman from a few days back. Her head fell off a few times, the gauntlets, made of Sculpey, looked cheap, and there was something off about here. So back to square one: - drilled a hole into the Mystique neck and stuck part of a paper clip in in. Slightly bent the end sticking out. Filled the hole in Catwoman's head with putty so that the other end of the paperclip has something to grab on to. The head is now secure with full range of motion. - cut the forearms of my Hush Catwoman from the gloves forward and cut the same amount off from Mystique's arms. Superglued the gloves on. Glove problem solved. - One of my big issues with Marvel Legends and DCUC female figures is that they are not womanly enough. They have next to no hips. Apart from the breasts they look like skinny teenage boys! What to do, what to do? I have always liked Catwoman with a belt on. It makes sense. After all, where in that skintight leather outfit is she going to keep her burglary tools? So I gave her the belt that originally came with the Mystique figure. It's the right size--not bulky like the usual Batman pouch belts--and it draws the eyes to the hips, giving the illusion that there is more there than there actually is. - Finally, and probably not visible in the pic, I added some extra silver here and there to give the idea of a buckle here or there. I twisty-tied her whip to her belt and gave her AC Catwoman's bola. I might have to find a way to give her a backpack someday and she may not look exactly like the N52 Catwoman but for now I'm much more satisfied. ![]() |
