Psycho Fox was released in 1989, and is my favorite game on the Master System. It's not a terribly competent platformer, but I always loved playing it. It makes me sad that Sega hasn't given the game any recognition at all since it was released - no cameos, remakes, sequels, or even just a blinkin' Virtual Console release. It's probably the only Sega property I love that gets treated worse than Streets of Rage.
PF's appearance isn't super consistent, between the cover art, the in-game sprite, and his appearance on the title screen. I cobbled together some aspects from each and slapped it onto a Classic Tails, with sculpted sleeves and toes.
When I was really young, I was actually convinced that Psycho Fox was Tails' older brother. Heh.
Pretty cool little fig, and Tails is obviously a fine choice for a base as they're both foxes from Sega's stable.
If you like Psycho Fox, you should check out Sega's Decap Attack [a.k.a., Magical Hat no Buttobi Tabo! Daibouken (Magical Hat Flying Turbo Adventure)], which is essentially the sequel to Psycho Fox, gameplay-wise, although completely different from a story/character perspective.
I do believe we talked about this on The 'Drome before (although you probably didn't know who made the fig), but for some reason Decap Attack and Magical Hat just don't have that je ne sais quoi that PF had that made me enjoy it so much.
