I've been something of a supporter of the Batman/Wonder Woman romantic pairing since I first came across it in the Justice League animated series. So for this contest, I decided to come up with a "what if?" character from an alternate reality: Batman and Wonder Woman's daughter.
Helena Troia Wayne is the daughter of Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince, who fell in love working together as Justice League teammates and eventually married and settled down. Helena inherited many of her mother's superhuman abilities (as well as her beauty), and her father's keen intellect and strength of will. Bruce and Diana were initially reluctant to have their daughter follow in their footsteps, so Helena sought guidance from "Uncle Clark" - Superman. Her parents eventually came to approve of her decision, and Helena decided to take on the identity of "Nychterida" - which is Greek for "Bat". Her outfit comprises various homages to her parents, including a chest emblem which is essentially a "W" within a Bat symbol. Her signature weapon is her mother's lasso of truth with a Batarang attached to the end of it, which she uses to knock out assailants. She also wears bracelets with spikes/scallops, combining what her mother and father wore on their wrists. The overall colour scheme of her outfit is a tribute to Uncle Clark.
The base figure for this custom is a Mattel Movie Masters Catwoman. I swapped out the forearms and feet for those from the DCUC Star Sapphire. A customizer friend was very helpful with tips about the limb-swapping; this person also suggested that I tie the Batarang at the end of the golden lasso. The head and hands are from an old DC Direct Donna Troy figure. I sculpted on the mask and chest emblem, and attached scallops cut out from sheet plastic to the bracelets. I painted everything all up. I hope you fine folk like this one, and thanks in advance for your votes!
Beautiful! What an awesome concept, idea and execution! She is definitely a mix of both parents, and so equally balanced. I really like the story and original character, especially the Greek name for Bat that you gave her.
Thanks for going back and commenting on this one, Chester! Yeah, it's not a pairing that everyone's a fan of, but I think the Justice League series made a pretty good case for the possibility of something between these two.
Hey everyone, thank you so much for your very kind comments and for voting - I really appreciate it and am glad to have entered this in the Alternate Realities contest. Congrats to the winners, who were very deserving indeed!
