Went thru a bunch of concept art for Zod and decided to build a more brutal battle armor. Sure, the Square Enix Zod is totally friggin epic, in terms of detailing and articulation, but the scale doesn't really fit with most collector's of the 7" or 12" figures.
So here we have a maxed out, fully armored (with helmet) version in the 7" scale. This Zod is solid, taking on as many interplanetary lifeforms as the General sees fit - armed with a House of Zod staff and plenty of bad attitude!
Used a Gears of War Elite Theron, replaced the head from a New Gods Orion re-sculpted, which has this classic Kirby look to it. Built up the suit with extra pieces of Halo/Mcfarlane armor. The helmet is also Halo re-modified, with Hirogen Borg shoulder pads, a neck brace from Abe Sapien and got the cape from an ML Magneto. Much of the details on the suit is the original base figure but some of the buckles were sculpted over to keep the armor looking futuristic. Searched the galaxy for a suitable weapon, finally decided on a majestic staff from a Soul Reaver - the perfect companion for planet terraforming! Base coat silver with black dry brush over top.
